Twice I hired very nice women who had great skill sets, excellent references and solid work experience. Both times, I had to fire them due to lack of performance. Those were some of the most difficult conversations I’ve ever had. I didn’t sleep for days leading up to it and felt tremendous guilt afterwards.
It left me wondering “what did I miss?” And, how can I avoid mis-hiring like that again?

The tool was a DISC™ Behavioral Assessment. If you’ve never heard of DISC before, it is an on-line assessment that measures HOW people behave, act and communicate. And since every job has behavioral requirements to it, you can assess whether a candidate matches the job or not.Once I learned how to hire people based on their DISC results, I started helping my clients do the same thing. And the most remarkable thing started to happen. Within just a few weeks, I would get a phone call from my client saying that what I predicted the candidate would act like was exactly how they were acting.
